Robo Wunderkind – modules and functions

A short guide on the Robo Wunderkind Modules: how they look and what they are capable of.

System & Sound

— Main Block

Start building your robot with this module. It contains all the essential components: battery, CPU and speaker.

Functions in Robo Code App:

Main Block has a 2400 mAh Battery, average play time is 6 hours. Charge time is 1—2 hours.

LED Indicator on the Main block can light up in different colors depending on the current state:

  • Looking for BLE connection: pulsing blue light;
  • Connected: solid green light;
  • Low Battery: solid orange light;
  • Updating: solid red light;
  • Charging: pulsing orange light;
  • Boot: white light.

Motors

— DC Motor

Add motion to your robot. Attach wheels to make a vehicle or power up any bot you come up with. You can control or program each of the DC Motors independently, or both of them at the same time.

Functions in Robo Code App:

Do not rotate a DC Motor manually by hand. This may lead to the motor breakage.

If you attach the rotating part of the DC Motor (without the connector) to another module, use a Wired Connector for this module to be recognized.

— Servo Motor

Use this module if you need precise motion. Servo Motor turns to the exact angle from the zero position. When you attach the Servo Motor to another module, you set the zero-position for it.

Functions in Robo Code App:

Do not rotate a Servo Motor manually by hand. This may lead to the motor breakage.

If you attach the rotating part of the Servo Motor (without Pogo pins) to another module, use the Wired Connector for this module to be recognized.

Lights & Displays

— RGB Light

Make your robot glow or blink in any color you like! Program this handy LED to light up your room in the dark.

Functions in Robo Code App:

— LED Display

Draw on a smartphone or tablet, display on your robot. Emotes, images or even animated text! You can rotate the displayed image with the controls in the app.

Sensors

— Distance Sensor

The “eyes” of the robot. It can detect obstacles and measure distance to walls or objects in front of your robot. It also has a built-in microphone and can measure the noise level.

— Light Sensor

Senses intensity of light. Can be programmed as a trigger for different kinds of actions.

— Motion Sensor

Motion detector triggers when it senses a movement, be it a person, an animal or anything else.

Program this big tactile button to whatever action you want.

Electrical Connectors

— Connector Block

Connect up to six electric or mechanical modules to this block.  Connector block doesn’t have any specific functions in the app, therefore the app does not show it in the list of functional blocks.

— Universal Connector

Holds blocks together and helps them communicate with each other.

Please make sure that the connector is fully inserted and there are no gaps between it and the attached modules.

— Wired Connector

Use it to connect modules at a distance or to connect the modules which are attached to the rotating part of a DC or Servo Motors.

Mechanical parts

— Big Wheel

Give your robots mobility with two Big Wheels or build a rotating tower using one Big Wheel as a base!

— Small Wheel

The third wheel is necessary for any moving vehicle to be able to make turns and be stable on the ground.

Open the universe of opportunities with LEGOTM parts. Robo Wunderkind is fully compatible with LEGOTM Duplo, LEGOTM and LEGOTM Technic parts.
